Guilford Green
The Guilford Art Center hosts its 62nd annual Craft Expo on the Guilford Green. More than 180 artisans will have work on display and for sale including ceramics, wearable/non-wearable fiber, metals, jewelry, glass, mixed media, photography, printmaking, sculpture, and handmade crafts.
One of the top crafts shows in New England, the expo also features demos, live music, and food.

All That Jazz

The largest free jazz event in New England, the Greater Hartford Festival of Jazz attracts more than 70,000 fans over the course of the weekend. The annual event features two days, three nights of live jazz at the Performance Pavilion and features artists from around the world. The festival also hosts food and crafts vendors. Wine, beer and wine coolers are available for purchase.
Bring your cameras, portable tables, blankets, and lawn chairs. Leave portable gas grills at home.

Lovers of art, books, and community will want to attend Westport’s annual Fine Arts Festival. More than 175 vendors will be set up along Main Street displaying a variety of artwork including photography, jewelry, and paintings.
There will also be art demonstrations and a “Kids Create” area with hands-on projects for kids of all ages.

Gay Gatherings: Philip Johnson, David Whitney and the Modern Arts

The exhibition explores interactions at the Glass House among eight gay men who profoundly shaped 20th-century artistic culture. Coincident with the 50th anniversary of New York’s Stonewall Uprising and the 70th anniversary of the Philip Johnson’s completion of the Glass House, Gay Gatherings underscores an essential element of the site’s history that has not been fully presented as part of its public interpretation.

A Brief History of Connecticut’s LGBTQ Community: A Traveling Exhibit and Digital Timeline

This traveling exhibit and digital timeline explores the idea of the LGBTQ community becoming a community, finding its voice, moving from invisibility to visibility, and moving from an underground existence to a claimed communal identity. A digital timeline contains additional stories from Connecticut’s LGBTQ history.
Admission is $12 for adults, $10 for seniors (65+), and $8 for students and youth (6-17). Admission for children 5 and under and CHS members is free.
