Enfield Bans Pride Flags

Enfield Pride’s Statement (Screenshot from X)

It’s happening here. The newly elected Republican dominated city council of Enfield has, as one of its first actions, banned the display of Pride flags on public property. NBC News has the report.

Interim town attorney Tom Tyler’s opinion was that flags need to be “neutral,” according to the report, equating a Pride flag with flags from ISIS or the IRA.

The move replaces the 2022 policy, which allowed the Pride flag to be flown during Pride Month in June.

In response, Enfield Pride released a statement condemning the move on X (formerly Twitter) and suggesting that residents step up efforts to display pride banners on private property.
